Our story

It all started with renewable energies

three former workmates and two friends, all involved with innovative technology,
decided to join forces on a new project.

Passionate about sustainable development

they came up with the idea of creating a system using off-grid, renewable energies
to purify water and make it safe for people with no access to electricity.

In 2015 they founded REN4WATER Impact

a not-for-profit Swiss association to tackle the challenge of providing
safe drinking water in every home through off-grid renewable energies.

Incubated at the EPFL Innovation Park in Lausanne, Switzerland

the project took off as a technology and social start-up to use innovative, off-grid technology
to develop a sustainable household water treatment system that,
reduces energy consumption, and has a positive impact on the enviroment.

In 2016 REN4WATER Impact was awarded a grant

by the SIG (Services Industriels de Genève) Renewable Energy Fund.
SIG is the leading energy and water treatment provider in Geneva.

REN4WATER has identified its first field partners

in Ethiopia and Kenya to test the first working prototypes in the field.
The project is gaining pace, the story continues...
